where we were that morning
what we were doing
where we were going
who we were with
who we weren’t able to reach
how we felt and
how we came together that day and the days, months and years to follow.

That day we were all human
we were all Americans
we were all New Yorkers.

What if we all stopped and took a moment today to reflect on everything we have experienced, endured and overcome, none of which would have been possible if we didn’t stand united.

Let this day which has left a mark on our souls also leave a mark on our conscience.

As we live the lives we are so fortunate to be given, let our actions be a tribute and honor to those who we have lost and the future we need to protect...and may we stand united once again from this day forward.
