What does a good real estate agent actually do for you?
A lot of the value is in the things you may never see.
It’s knowing when a small inspection issue could become an expensive one. When a question needs to be asked now, not three days from now. When it’s time to push back, dig a little deeper, make another phone call or have the conversation that may not be the easiest one.
And sometimes, it’s knowing when protecting your client matters more than simply keeping a deal moving.
After more than 20 years in real estate, I’ve learned that the smoothest transactions aren’t necessarily the ones where nothing goes wrong.
They feel smooth because someone is paying attention. Asking the right questions. Anticipating what could come next. Communicating with the lender, title company, inspector, appraiser and other agent and handling the little things before they have a chance to become big things.
That’s the behind-the-scenes part of this job that I take very seriously.
My clients hire me to help them buy or sell a home, but they also hire me to advocate for them, protect their interests and make sure they understand what’s happening every step of the way.
That’s what good representation should feel like.
