Meet my newest mentee — Lisa Trisler! 🎉🏡

Watching Lisa take this leap has been one of the most rewarding parts of being a mentor. She stepped into a brand new industry with more faith than fear, and I could not be more proud of the agent she is already becoming.

Last night, the City of Freeport IL approved seven Facade Grants for downtown Freeport. The grants for all seven projects total $57,650 and support more than $260,000 of private investment in downtown buildings.
Thank you to the City of Freeport and wonderful building owners who continue to invest in the beauty and prosperity of downtown!
The Downtown Façade Improvement Grant Program is an annual funding opportunity available to properties located within the Downtown TIF District. The purpose of the program is to support exterior building improvements that enhance the visual character of downtown, preserve historic features, and stimulate private investment.

If I had to start over in real estate, these are the 3 things I’d prioritize first ⬇️

1. Know your contracts inside and out.

Not just the basics — actually understand what you’re signing and what you’re protecting your clients from. This is where trust is built or lost.

2. Tell everyone you’re a real estate agent. Everyone.

Don’t be a secret agent 🕵️‍♀️ Your sphere is your goldmine — but only if they know what you do.

3. Become the resource, not just the agent.

The more value you bring, the less you ever have to “sell.” People don’t want a transaction — they want someone they can trust.

Focus on building a strong foundation, and you will be miles ahead.
