Comment “1812” and I’ll send you all the details on this one.

Downtown McKinney. 0.36 acres. No HOA. Detached workshop. A backyard that feels way bigger than you’d expect this close to town.

This is the kind of house that makes sense for someone who wants the character and convenience of an established neighborhood...

But doesn’t want to give up the yard, workspace, or flexibility that usually sends you farther outside of town.

The home itself was built in 1953, but it’s been completely updated throughout.

And then you walk into the backyard...

That’s where this one gets really interesting.

✅ 3 beds | 2 baths

✅ 2,210 sq ft

✅ 0.36-acre lot

✅ Updated kitchen with Z-Line convection gas range

✅ 2 fireplaces

✅ Brand new laundry room

✅ Covered patio + roof extension

✅ Detached 20x20 workshop

✅ Additional detached garage

✅ Carport + additional parking

✅ Custom landscaping + firepit area

✅ No HOA

✅ Property Taxes: $10,416/year

The workshop might be one of my favorite parts.

Home gym. Office. Hobby space. Somewhere to actually work on projects without taking over the garage...

You’ve got options.

Then add in the mature trees, big backyard, covered outdoor space and the fact that you’re in historic downtown McKinney...

It’s a combination that’s getting harder to find.

Especially when you want some land AND still want to be close to everything.

Comment “1812” and I’ll send you all the details.

Can we build our home in just 120 days… or are we going to have to re-sign our lease? 🤯

Welcome to DAY 45 and…

WE HIT THE DEADLINE. 🙌

Drywall is officially DONE.

This was one of the biggest checkpoints on our 120-day timeline because there was A LOT that had to happen before these walls could be closed up.

HVAC.
Electrical.
Plumbing.
Inspections.
Corrections.

And after getting our own third-party pre-drywall inspection on Day 30, seeing everything addressed and finally covered up feels like a huge win.

But the biggest difference?

It finally feel like a home

One detail we incorporated throughout the home was arches.

My wife was adamant about having them…

And I have to give it to her, they turned out really good. 😂

Now that the drywall is up, you can finally see the rooms, hallways and entire floor plan come together the way we imagined it months ago.

Next up: BRICK. 🧱

This is where it gets tricky because our delievery of brick has been delayed

so we will see if they can get back on track or if this is where we start to lose momentum

The countdown:

✅ Day 1: Foundation
✅ Day 14: Fully Framed
✅ Day 20: Roof + Windows + Siding
✅ Day 30: Third-Party Inspection
✅ Day 45: DRYWALL
⬜ Day 90: Cabinets
⬜ Day 110: Flooring + Final Touches
⬜ Day 120: MOVE IN???

75 DAYS TO GO.

So far, we’ve hit every major deadline.

But we’re not even halfway there yet…

Can we keep this pace for another 75 days and actually move in on Day 120?

Or is the second half of this build where things start getting interesting?

Follow along as we document what it actually looks like to build a new construction home in North Dallas—the progress, delays, decisions, mistakes, costs and everything we learn along the way.
