Barbara Colvin - Broker Associate Your Faith-filled Broker Associate! After high school, I married and supported my then-husband through law school. Helping my clients is a joy.

Born in Bermuda as the daughter of an Air Force dad, I had the privilege of moving often — California, Italy, Maryland, and finally San Antonio during middle school. This upbringing taught me how to connect and build friendships wherever I went, a skill that serves me well in real estate today. When our marriage ended, I moved to Austin in 1990 and spent the next decade devoted to ministry — servi

ng in the singles ministry at church, volunteering in the infant’s room, helping with youth crisis counseling, assisting an elderly member, and participating in the singles and women’s ministries. My focus during that time was on serving others and growing in faith. I also returned to school and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Psychology. In 2001, God blessed me with my amazing husband, Barry, and we’ve now been married for 24 years. Together, we’re proud parents of two wonderful daughters and share our home with a Labradoodle and a Puggle. Professionally, my career has been varied and rewarding. I worked in mortgage loan processing, construction support, EAP phone counseling, purchasing, negotiations, and local business services. These experiences — combined with my ability to connect with people — led me to real estate, where I can truly serve clients with heart and expertise. I’m a firm believer in education and hold my Broker Associate License along with eight real estate designations, because the more I learn, the better I can serve my clients — whether buying, selling, leasing, or investing. I work with sellers, buyers, and investors both locally and out of state, treating each transaction as if it were my own. I listen intently, guide carefully, and celebrate when we find the perfect solution. If clients are open, I love praying with them at the start or end of the process. My goal is always the same: to make the journey smooth, rewarding, and faith centered. I like to say I’m Your Faith-filled Broker Associate for Life — because real estate is about relationships as much as it is about homes.

Hutto could be in line for one of Williamson County’s largest economic investments—but there is an important qualifier: the project is still proposed.

On August 20, Williamson County commissioners approved an economic-development agreement connected to a potential Blue Origin facility in Hutto. If the project moves forward, the company would invest $650 million over 10 years, develop approximately 1 million square feet of industrial research and manufacturing space, and create up to 2,000 jobs.

Why does this matter locally? A major employer can influence commuting patterns, housing demand and future infrastructure planning. However, buyers, sellers and investors shouldn’t treat the announcement as a completed deal. State approval and Blue Origin’s final commitment are still required.

The practical takeaway: follow the final approvals, employment timeline and surrounding road plans—and evaluate property using today’s market fundamentals rather than assumed appreciation.

🥤 Something Sweet is Coming to Liberty Hill! 🎉

Get ready — FiiZ Drinks, the popular "dirty soda" shop chain, is bringing its first Austin-area location right here to Liberty Hill! Owner Sophie Platt, who also runs the College Station location with her family, is aiming to open the doors by the end of the year.

"I'm really excited to bring this family-friendly, but really for everyone, brand [to Liberty Hill]," Platt said. "We really treat it as a place to hang out — an inclusive place where everyone can come and really feel welcome."

Started in Utah back in 2014, FiiZ has exploded to more than 70 locations nationwide (with about 200 more in the works!), thanks in part to social media putting the spotlight on custom "dirty soda" creations.

📍 15050 W. Hwy. 29, Liberty Hill
📅 Targeted opening: Late 2026

Another fun, community-driven spot on the way — this is exactly the kind of local flavor that makes Liberty Hill such a great place to plant roots. 🏡

Georgetown residents will have a local infrastructure decision on the November 3 ballot.

Voters will decide whether to reauthorize the existing 0.25% sales tax dedicated to street resurfacing and repair. This proposal would not increase the sales-tax rate, and the funding is collected from purchases made within Georgetown—not only from homeowners.

Why does this matter to local real estate? Street conditions, planned repairs and neighborhood access can affect everyday commutes, property-maintenance decisions and how buyers experience an area. Buyers may want to review nearby road projects when comparing homes, while homeowners can follow the City’s maintenance schedule for work planned around their property.

Infrastructure may not be the flashiest real estate news, but it is an important part of understanding a community.

🏦 Growing Together: United Heritage Credit Union Breaks Ground in Liberty Hill! 🎉

Big news for our community — United Heritage Credit Union celebrated the groundbreaking of their new Liberty Hill branch on Aug. 25, coming to the intersection of US 183 and Hwy. 29 at Seward Junction.

"Liberty Hill is really growing, and we're glad to be part of it and grow with it," said UHCU CEO Michael Ver Schuur, reflecting on how far the area has come from what used to be "cattle and ranches" back in the early '80s.

UHCU is a not-for-profit financial cooperative that's been serving Austin-area families since 1957, with a mission focused on helping individuals and families manage their finances responsibly and build a better future.

🛣️ New Road Now Open in Georgetown! 🎉

Williamson County officially opened CR 255 on Aug. 24, celebrating with a ribbon-cutting ceremony! This new 3-mile, two-lane road connects CR 254 to CR 289 and links directly to Ronald Reagan Boulevard — removing sharp turns and improving the drive for Georgetown-area residents.

"This is a regional road for us," said Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey. "It's on our Long Range Transportation Plan, and eventually it will go further north."

The $20.8 million project was funded through Williamson County's Road and Bridge funds. Looking ahead, commissioners are expected to vote in September on renaming the road to Tucker Parkway, honoring the Tucker family who settled in Williamson County in the 1850s.

Better roads mean better connectivity for our growing communities — one more reason Georgetown continues to be such a great place to call home. 🏡

🏡 Neighborhood Spotlight: Crystal Knoll Terrace 🌳

Tucked just south of where I-35 meets SH 130 in Georgetown's ETJ, Crystal Knoll Terrace is one of those established, tree-lined neighborhoods that just feels like home. Built by Main Street Homes between 1995–2005, this community of about 400 homes offers character and mature landscaping you won't find in a brand-new subdivision.

📊 The Details:
🏠 Median home value: $300,000
📐 Average square footage: 1,500
🌲 About 400 established homes with mature trees
🏫 Zoned to Georgetown ISD's Cooper Elementary, Forbes Middle, and Georgetown High
🛝 Amenities: neighborhood playground and walking trails
📍 Currently only 4 homes on the market (as of Aug. 10)

With such limited inventory right now, homes here don't stay available for long. If Crystal Knoll Terrace — or a neighborhood like it — sounds like what you're looking for, let's talk!
