Could your church, workplace, or community group help local families experiencing homelessness?

I’m helping spread the word about an opportunity to support Family Promise, a nonprofit that helps families facing homelessness.

They’re looking for churches, businesses, real estate brokerages, service clubs, and other community organizations willing to come together and provide meals and a safe place to sleep for families in need.

A participating group would help host approximately four families for one week by providing evening meals, overnight accommodations, and an overnight volunteer.

It’s a meaningful way for a group of friends, coworkers, or community members to make a difference together.

If you’ve been waiting for gardening season in Arizona, this is it.

October is a great time to start planting a lot of the cool-season vegetables that struggle through our summer heat. Think lettuce, spinach, kale, radishes, carrots, garlic, and green onions.

One of my favorite things about living here is that while much of the country is putting their gardens to bed, we’re just getting started again.
