Menke Park is back!

Join neighbors, friends, and local businesses on Sat, Sept 19th from 2-4pm to celebrate the grand opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly renovated Menke Park in Corte Madera.

Enjoy free ice cream donated by Lappert’s, live music from Rocky Road, and games for all ages. Updates to Menke Park included:

• New, ADA-compliant pathway connecting the lower and upper areas
• Regraded and added a low retaining wall that doubles as a sitting wall
• Removed trees that were in poor condition/in the way, and planted new trees
• Replaced park irrigation
• Reroofed and repainted the Piccolo Pavilion (same color) and modified railing
• Replaced benches with new ones and salvaged/reused commemorative plaques

Explore the newly renovated park with some ice cream while celebrating the return of this Corte Madera staple. (Pro tip: head to Zinz W**e Bar afterwards to keep the party going...)

The best market research doesn't come from headlines, it comes from walking through homes with buyers and listening to what they really want.

After countless private tours, open houses, and candid conversations, I've noticed similar themes emerge. It's less about chasing the latest trend or flashy (or as I've seen in some houses, downright gaudy) finishes and more about thoughtful design, quality craftsmanship, and homes that simply fit their family and lifestyle.

Your offer was accepted! Time to pop the ch*****ne? Absolutely. But the work isn't over yet. What you do (or don't do) in the next few weeks matters more than most people realize.

Here's what typically happens behind the scenes during escrow:

• Any inspections if needed (during the agreed contingency period)
• Appraisal(s) ordered by your lender (could be more than one depending on loan size)
• Loan underwriting and final approval
• Title search to ensure the property is free & clear
• AVID (Agent Visual Inspection) by buyer's agent
• Final walkthrough of the property (typically after staging is removed)
• Signing a milllllllion documents
• Funds wired and deed recorded

While all of that is unfolding, your lender is still watching your finances closely. A few things that can derail a closing faster than you'd think:

• Buying a new car
• Opening a new credit card
• Changing jobs
• Making large, unexplained deposits
• Shopping for furniture (or other large purchases)
• Closing out an existing credit card
• Traveling where you can't be contacted

Stay boring. Stay approved. The real celebration can wait until the keys are in your hand (with a thoughtful closing gift if I'm your awesome agent).

Some transactions are about more than just the sale.

This one meant a lot because trust was built slowly, thoughtfully, and without pressure. From prepping the home to positioning it strategically on the market, every detail was approached with care — and it paid off with a strong offer after only 6 days on the market.

“Respect, kindness, and understanding throughout the process.” That part matters just as much as the result.
