The Fed Just Raised Rates 0.25%…What Does That Mean for Real Estate?

Today, the Federal Reserve raised its benchmark federal-funds rate by ¼ percentage point, bringing the target range to 3.75%–4.00%. The Fed said inflation remains elevated and that the move is intended to support a return toward its 2% inflation goal.

But here's something important for homeowners, buyers and real-estate professionals:

A Fed rate hike does NOT automatically mean mortgage rates will rise by 0.25%.

Mortgage rates are influenced by a much broader set of factors, including Treasury yields, inflation expectations, economic conditions and investor demand.
So what should you do?
