As summer begins to wind down, we’re looking back on a beautiful evening spent together earlier this summer — a sunset cruise on Hilton Head Island with Osprey Village residents and their families.

Aboard The Salty Dog Cruise, everyone enjoyed an unforgettable Lowcountry evening filled with dolphin sightings, stunning sunsets and plenty of time to connect and get to know one another. 🐬🌅

A special thank-you to Captain Phil Smith, whose gracious hospitality helped make the evening so enjoyable for everyone aboard.

We loved sharing details about the recent groundbreaking of Osprey Village, a thoughtfully designed residential community where adults with developmental differences will live confidently, independently, and surrounded by connection. Thanks to The Post and Courier for sharing that Osprey Village isn’t simply housing but a place where connections are made and residents' dreams are coming true.

A new housing development going up in Hardeeville next year will provide adults with developmental disabilities independence and community. (Full story below.)

Our groundbreaking ceremony was an important milestone, especially for the families who have worked so hard over the last 18 years to keep Osprey Village's vision and dream alive. Thank you, WHHI-TV for capturing the excitement of the day. The equipment is clearing more than trees, dirt and debris; it’s paving a path to a brighter future for our new residents who want independence and more connections to their community. , , , and surrounding towns located in Beaufort and Jasper counties are filled with people who want to support creative housing options for individuals with disabilities. Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate our groundbreaking. Our residents thank you for making their dreams come true.

Bill Hager-South Carolina House 122 so that you could witness the excitement of the residents whose lives will have more independence, opportunity and connection to City of Hardeeville, SC, Jasper County SC , Town of Bluffton Government, Beaufort County Government SC, The Town of Ridgeland, South Carolina and the Town of Hilton Head Island Government. South Carolina is filled with people who want to create and support creative options for individuals with disabilities.
