August 2026 Oahu Real Estate Market Update: Hopefully you survived the hurricane Lala storm without too much damage. It's important to get your home storm ready as we could have another storm approaching. The federal reserve met last month and decided to keep the benchmark rate at 3.5%. They have another meeting in mid September but most likely they are going to keep interest rates where they are at which is translating to about a 6.7% mortgage rate. Single family homes continue to go up in value and condos not quite as much. Here's some of last months stats:

Closed sales: SFH +20.5%, Condo +6.9%
Median sales price: SFH $1.224M +13.9%, Condo $504K +3.0%
Days on market: SFH 14 days -30%, Condo 38 days -24%
Months of active inventory: SFH 3.2 months -13.5%, Condo 7.0 months +2.9%
