Want to hear something f$&king crazy?!

I received a call today from the home appraiser that's appraising one of my listings. He told me he was going to flag the A/C system as “inoperable” during the appraisal because he didn’t know how to use the Google Nest thermostat and had apparently never seen one installed in a home before.

You really can’t make this stuff up sometimes!!!!

Me: “Sir, this is a very common smart thermostat found in many homes. You can walk into Home Depot or Lowe’s and see hundreds of them.”

Appraiser: “Never seen one installed in a home.”

Me: “Are you still at the house? Just tap the side of the thermostat, swipe up or down to find the mode, and turn on the cooling.”

Appraiser: “I’m just going to put ‘inoperable’ along with a couple other repairs. Just make sure it’s turned on and running for the next visit.”

Me: "Seriously?! ... Fine, have a good day."

So now I have to call the loan officer and the buyer’s agent to explain the situation ahead of time so there’s no misunderstanding when they read the appraisal report.
