Sound Decision in Kitty Hawk — The House Where the Backyard Wins

Half a mile from the beach, and some days you won’t make it that far. Sound Decision’s landscaped backyard is on a third-acre lot: a private pool (open April 4 through November 1; optional heat, $500 plus tax), a hot tub seating six, a fire pit, co****le — and the showpiece, a fully equipped outdoor wet bar with its own TV, so game day happens poolside with the grill going. When the group finally comes inside, the ground-level rec room keeps it rolling with two arcade consoles, a Smart TV, and Dolby Atmos surround sound.

Freshly Remodeled, Seriously Equipped

Recently remodeled top to bottom, the house spans more than 3,200 square feet across three levels. The top floor is the gathering space: cathedral ceilings, a bright open living area with an 85” TV visible from the kitchen and dining areas, and a gourmet kitchen that means business — stainless appliances, gas range, and (hosts, take note) two dishwashers and two refrigerators with ice makers. The dining area seats eight, and the sun deck outside matches it with lounge seating, a dining set for eight, and partial ocean views.
The mid-level holds three bedrooms — a king suite with a 65” Smart TV, sound bar, and private full bath, plus two queen bedrooms sharing a hall bath — all with Smart TVs and ceiling fans, and all opening to a wrap-around porch overlooking the pool. A fourth bedroom with a double bed sits on the top level beside a shared full bath with tiled shower and a cozy sitting area with its own Smart TV.

The Practical Stuff

Parking for four vehicles, an enclosed outdoor shower, gas grill, laundry room plus washer/dryer, central heat and air, Keurig, and high-speed wireless internet. The nearest public beach access is about half a mile away, next to the Black Pelican Oceanfront Restaurant — an easy bike ride or a five-minute drive with the gear.
