Let's all give a big round of applause to my amazing first time home buyers!

The process is not always quick and to the point. This time we looked at a lot of homes, scrutinized over a few of them, put offers in on some, got outbid a few times, and even experienced a little bit of lender rejection. Ouch!

But we found a lender who could help. We stepped up our home search to the next level. And we found a home that was newer and bigger and nicer than so many of the ones we looked at before. My buyers closed this afternoon and will be moving in soon. This after we spent months together, talking and driving and looking and hoping and wondering and all of sudden -- buying!

A zillion times thank you to Sam Timlick for making this deal happen! And congratulations to my buyers! You know who you are.

Good news! If you did not get a ticket yet to the brunch for a good cause tomorrow, the $12 cost of entry on the day of has been reduced to $10, just like the tickets that were sold ahead of time.

Brunch will be pancakes, etc. But the photo below is of the turkey pot pie soup that was served on a Monday in March for the folks who live in the community nearby. Your purchase or donation will help fund the family style meals served on Mondays at 6 pm.

But the brunch on Saturday lasts from 10 am to 2 pm.
510 Gibson Mill Road in Kingsport.

If the parking lot is too full, you can park at the Westminster Presbyterian Church at 900 Watauga Street and take the shuttle bus. Or if the weather is nice, you can just walk a few blocks.
