🍽️ Grab lunch, dinner, or happy hour at one of your favorite local spots

One important reminder before heading to the water: the National Weather Service has issued a High Surf Advisory and Coastal Flood Advisory for Dana Point from Saturday, September 5 through Tuesday, September 8. 🌊 Large surf and potentially hazardous ocean conditions mean it’s especially important to use caution, stay aware of changing conditions, and follow all lifeguard warnings.

There are plenty of ways to soak up the last unofficial weekend of summer while staying safe. ☀️

With wildfires, earthquakes, severe weather, and other emergencies making headlines, it’s a good reminder to take a few minutes to review your household emergency plan.

A few things to keep in mind:
🏠 Know how to contact your insurance company and what your policy covers
📸 Keep a home inventory and document important belongings
📄 Store copies of important documents somewhere safe
💡 Know how to safely shut off your utilities
🎒 Keep an emergency kit stocked and ready
🐾 Don’t forget to include pets in your emergency plan
📱 Keep important emergency contacts easily accessible

Hopefully, we’ll never need to put these plans into action—but a little preparation today can provide a lot of peace of mind tomorrow.

Doheny State Beach invites the community to take part in a Community Beach Cleanup on Saturday, July 18 from 8:00–11:00am, meeting at Doheny State Beach, located at 25300 Dana Point Harbor Drive, Dana Point, CA 92629.

Participants should park in the furthest parking lot before the bridge and meet at the picnic tables closest to Lifeguard Headquarters.

These monthly cleanups are a great way to give back while helping protect our local coastline. Cleanup supplies will be provided, but participants are encouraged to bring their own recycled bags, buckets, gloves, or other supplies to help make the event as zero-waste as possible. All ages are welcome.

Parking fees are waived for volunteers, and a parking pass may be picked up from a staff member at the event table.
