As a young boy, I felt compelled to help one of my classmates who had trouble communicating with our teacher. He introduced me to his deaf friends and opened up another world to me. I learned sign language and, later in life, I became a Teacher of the Deaf. I began training in the martial arts at the early age of five. I came to appreciate a holistic
way of living life, which I later naturally integrated into my work as a teacher of the martial arts. Along the way, I was fortunate to have some wealthy clients and I realized that part of the excitement of teaching at their penthouse apartments and houses came from being able to admire and enjoy their beautiful homes … and thus began my fascination with real estate. As a young adult, I rented many apartments and lived in a variety of neighborhoods, experiencing the differences in population and vibe of each area. When I was in my early 30's, I was ready to make my first real estate investment, an apartment in which I would live. I remember touring different neighborhoods, searching for an affordable place with the right feeling. My first real estate purchase catalyzed in me a strong interest in the real estate market and I continued to watch the buying and selling trends in my neighborhood after I moved in. After a short time, I found an opportunity to sell my home and invest in something larger. Buying, renovating and seeking out promising real estate investments had become a way of life...
