Sometimes real estate is beautiful homes, professional photography, open houses, negotiations, and handing someone the keys at closing. And sometimes... it looks like this.
We were hired to help an owner regain possession of a property that had fallen into severe hoarding conditions, clean it out, restore it to a livable and marketable condition, and ultimately get it sold. These pictures don’t fully capture what we walked into. The conditions were bad enough that the professional cleaning crew had to enter the home wearing hazmat suits.
There was trash throughout the house and yard, a kitchen and bathrooms that required extensive cleaning, debris in the pool, damage throughout the property, and a garage that had essentially become additional living and storage space. This was definitely not a “put a sign in the yard and wait for an offer” kind of listing.
It took cleaners, contractors, repairs, coordination, problem solving, a lot of phone calls, and probably a few moments where everyone involved questioned their career choices. 😂 But that is part of real estate that people don’t always see.
Sometimes our job is not simply to market a home. Sometimes it is to walk into a complicated situation, figure out what needs to happen next, assemble the right people, solve one problem after another, and keep everything moving toward the finish line.
That is exactly what we did here. We got the property back under control, cleaned it up, restored it to a condition where it could be marketed properly, and ultimately got it SOLD.
And that is what makes these “before” pictures so satisfying.
If you own a property that feels too complicated, too damaged, too overwhelming, or too far gone to sell, don’t automatically assume you’re stuck with it. There may be a path forward. Sometimes you just need someone willing to look at the whole problem and put the right plan together.
