A lot on Palm Island in Miami Beach that previously had the home of famed gangster Al Capone has sold for $21 million.

The 30,000-square-foot lot at 93 Palm Ave. was sold by 93 Palm Residence LLC, managed by Toni Alam in Coral Gables. The buyer was 93 Palm Avenue LLC, managed by Russian businessman Ilya Karpov.

The lot last traded for $15.5 million in 2021, so it sold for a gain. In 2023, the property owner demolished Capone’s former home, which dated back to 1922. This home was Capone’s winter retreat from Chicago.

Designed by OMA and developed by Mast Capital and Curated JCZM Development in collaboration with Banyan Group, the project will yield 88 condominium residences, with interiors by Yabu Pushelberg and landscape architecture by Enea Landscape Architecture.

The development will contain one- to four-bedroom residences and a penthouse collection, with wraparound terraces providing multiple exposures across Downtown West Palm Beach and the surrounding area.
