🚨 Texas Landlords & Property Managers — Important Eviction Form Update 🚨

Effective May 6, the Notice to Pay Rent or Vacate (TXR 2232) has officially been revised and is now available through all form-fill vendors.

The updated form gives landlords additional flexibility when handling evictions under the law that went into effect in January. It also addresses situations involving tenants with prior late payments, delinquent rent history, or additional lease violations.

Here’s the breakdown 👇

✔️ If a tenant has previously been late or delinquent in paying rent, OR the eviction involves nonpayment of rent PLUS another lease violation, landlords may use either:

• Notice to Vacate (TXR 2208)
OR
• Notice to Pay Rent or Vacate (TXR 2232)

✔️ If the tenant has NOT previously been late or delinquent, and the default is ONLY for nonpayment of rent, landlords MUST use:
• Notice to Pay Rent or Vacate (TXR 2232)

Bottom line: Understanding which notice to use matters. Using the wrong form could impact your eviction process.
