The most effective way to end homelessness is to address it early. That’s why REALTORS® Kelly and Bryan Ranstad created Alder House, a nine-unit building that provides stable transitional housing for youth, ages 16-21, who are in crisis typically because they were unsafe or unwelcome at home. Since 2021, Kelly and Bryan have provided 12 young people with fully furnished apartments, clothing, food, and life skills training in partnership with nonprofit Looking Glass Community Services. Six of the residents have transitioned into independent stable housing. “Like so many areas, my community is in a homelessness crisis,” said Kelly. “I wanted to do something meaningful that would make a lasting impact.”
