What does the data say about housing in Duvall?

Today I drove around Duvall and counted real estate signs.

I found 35 real estate directional signs and 3 oversized real estate directional signs, totaling about 123 square feet of roadside advertising.

I also followed some of them.

A few led to homes for sale. Some led to model homes. Several led to dead ends with no home for sale, and others didn't appear to lead to any active or pending listing.

It made me wonder what purpose many of these signs actually serve.

Most people looking for a home start online. They find listings through Zillow, Redfin, social media, and real estate websites long before they drive through a neighborhood.

When I'm hosting an open house, I use a few OPEN HOUSE A-boards to help people find the property. Usually three. If someone is coming to an open house, they should be able to find it.

What I don't do is place directional signs around town for general advertising.

One of the reasons I love Duvall is because of the scenery, the open space, and the small-town feel. I don't think our roadsides need to be covered in advertising.

I'm sure many of these signs are perfectly legal. That doesn't mean I think they belong on every corner.
