One thing about me, I’m probably not going to walk through a house and only talk about how cute the kitchen is. 😂
When I’m showing homes around the Shoals, I’m paying attention to the things that can actually matter once you own it.
Three things I’m always looking at:
1. The expensive stuff.
How old does the roof appear? What about the HVAC? Are there visible signs of plumbing, electrical, moisture, drainage, or foundation concerns that we need to ask more questions about?
2. What this house may really cost you.
Purchase price is only part of the picture. Taxes, insurance, utilities, maintenance, and repairs all matter when we’re figuring out whether a home truly makes sense for you.
3. The details that are easy to miss when you fall in love with a house.
Because once you start picturing your furniture in the living room, it’s very easy to overlook the less exciting stuff.
I’ve spent years around homes through the construction company my husband and I own here in the Shoals. That doesn’t make me a home inspector, and an inspection is still an important part of the process. It does mean I tend to notice things, ask questions, and want my buyers to understand what they’re walking into.
There are still good homes moving in Muscle Shoals, Florence, Tuscumbia, and the surrounding area. My job isn’t to talk you into one. It’s to help you make a decision you feel good about after the keys are yours too. 🏡
Thinking about buying in the Shoals? Send me a message and let’s talk about what you’re looking for.
