I really am so lucky to have a husband who is just as committed to my clients as I am. He puts up with the phone calls that interrupt dinner, the conversations that get paused because “I just need to answer this really quick,” the last minute schedule changes, late night contract talk, and all the craziness that comes along with real estate.

And apparently, when my clients need a little extra help on moving day, he gets recruited for that too. 😂

Maybe I’m getting older, but the things that feel like success to me have gotten a whole lot simpler.
A home full of the people I love. Supper around the table. Kids coming and going. Animals to take care of. Work that means something. And, every once in a while, a quiet porch and nobody needing anything for five minutes.

More room. Less to maintain. A little land. A shorter drive. Being closer to family. Starting over somewhere new.
I’ve learned that there is usually a much bigger why behind a move than simply wanting a different house.
That’s why one of my favorite parts of real estate is getting to know people well enough to understand what they’re actually looking for, not just what they typed into the search bar.

The price of the home isn’t the whole monthly payment.

When buyers are comparing homes, I always recommend looking beyond the list price. A home that appears to fit your budget may actually cost more each month depending on taxes, insurance, utilities, or HOA fees.

The goal isn’t just to find a house you can buy, it’s to find one that still feels comfortable after you move in.

That’s one of those little things worth knowing before you fall in love with a property.

I think we can get so caught up in bedrooms, square footage, finishes and wish lists that we forget what we’re really looking for, a place where life feels good.
