In order to keep your property tax deductions and exemptions you must refile by December 30, 2026. You cannot refile until after July 1, 2026, so please wait because the required Indiana state form 51186 is currently being updated.

***There is NO grandfather clause***

If you don't refile you will not continue receiving benefits on future tax bills. Please do not assume that yours will automatically continue!

The previous assessed value cap of $240,000 has been removed.
Veterans with 100% service-connected disability or individual unemployability status may now qualify for a full 100% exemption! Additional tax credits may also apply.

PLEASE SHARE THIS POST to help insure that no veteran will lose their property tax benefits simpley because they didn't know they had to refile!!
