A big moment for Gowanus as the historic Carroll Street Bridge reopens after five years, reconnecting the neighborhood and celebrating one of Brooklyn’s most unique landmarks. Join us on Saturday from 4:00–6:30 PM at 420 Carroll Street for a community block party organized by The Shop Workspace, our coworking and community platform, with a gelato social hosted by our affiliate, Igloo, in partnership with Albero dei Gelati. We’re proud that our residential development 420 Carroll Street will serve as the backdrop for an afternoon of art, culture, and connection as the neighborhood comes together to celebrate this milestone.

Last week, team members from Domain, Igloo and Vorea came together for our annual New York Community Day, partnering with Materials for the Arts (MFTA), a partner that helps keep valuable materials out of landfills by redistributing them to public schools, arts organizations, and community groups throughout New York City.

Our team helped sort, organize, and prepare donated materials for reuse, supporting both environmental sustainability and equitable access to creative resources for educators, artists, and students across the five boroughs.

Community Day is an important part of our commitment to community engagement. By dedicating time to service, we strengthen our connection to the neighborhoods where we live, work, and develop while supporting organizations that create lasting impact. Partnerships like this reflect our belief that thriving communities are built through collaboration, stewardship, and meaningful investment in local organizations.

Members of the Domain team and residents of Jasper joined hundreds of runners, walkers, and neighbors at the LIC 5K in support of the important work of Hunters Point Parks Conservancy.

As a sponsor of this year's event, Domain was proud to provide race entries for team members and support an organization dedicated to enhancing, maintaining, and activating the waterfront parks and public spaces that serve the Long Island City community.

Through our MyCommunity program and broader community engagement efforts, we believe strong neighborhoods are built through meaningful partnerships with local nonprofits that create opportunities for connection, recreation, and civic pride.

Thank you to Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, the event organizers, volunteers, and everyone who participated in making this year's race a success. We are grateful for the opportunity to support the organizations that help our communities thrive.

Domain was proud to partner with LAI Land Economics Society and the NYC Department of City Planning for a walking tour of the Gowanus neighborhood and our residential development, 420 Carroll Street — the first project completed under the 2021 Gowanus rezoning. Designed to advance the vision for a connected and vibrant waterfront along the canal, 420 Carroll includes a public park, ground floor retail, coworking space, and artist studios that contribute to the neighborhood’s evolving mixed-use character.

We welcomed more than 30 attendees to explore the transformation of Gowanus and discuss the planning, design, and development efforts shaping its future. Special thanks to Domain’s Natalia Zawisny for sharing insights from her experience helping bring 420 Carroll from concept to completion, and to Sagi Golan of DCP, whose leadership and expertise were instrumental throughout the rezoning process.

Recently, Jasper Hunters Point residents and staff members came together to create treat bags for our friends at Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement. This incredible MyCommunity partner works to build and strengthen underserved communities in western Queens through programs and services that support youth, families, immigrants, and older adults. For nearly two decades, Gowanus Canal Conservancy has worked to build a more resilient, equitable, and vibrant urban ecosystem through environmental stewardship, education, advocacy, and community-driven green infrastructure projects throughout the neighborhood.

Igloo, Domain's commercial leasing affiliate, represented SakeBrooklyn in securing 6,500 square feet at Property Markets Group’s Society Brooklyn development in Gowanus, where the brand will open a new brewery and public-facing taproom in early 2027. As residential growth continues to transform the neighborhood, Igloo continues to connect emerging experiential brands with high-impact retail opportunities that help shape the next generation of destination retail along the Gowanus Canal.
