September is National Su***de Prevention Month. At Lantern Community Services, our work spans the full continuum of care from emergency shelter to long-term supportive housing because we believe stability and connection are two of the most powerful protective factors against crisis, no matter where someone is in that journey.
In our shelters, staff are often meeting people at their most vulnerable, and that first relationship matters just as much as the ones we build over years in supportive housing. Across every site, our teams are trained to notice when someone needs support and to make sure help is never far away.
This month, we're asking our community to check in on one another. A simple "how are you, really?" can open a door.
If you or someone you know is in crisis, support is available around the clock. Call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, or text HOME to 741741 to reach the Crisis Text Line.
