🚨 Heat kills. More New Yorkers die from heat each year than from
hurricanes, floods, or winter storms—often in homes without A/C.
Make a plan now.

✔️ Use your A/C
✔️ Know your cool options

Cool Options is a new citywide term that refers to the full range of safe, air-conditioned or cool places New Yorkers can go during extreme heat. This includes:

•Personal options like a friend’s or family member’s A/C home
•Public options like libraries, senior centers, and museums
•Private options like malls, theaters, or coffee shops
•NYC Cooling Centers activated during heat emergencies—free, public spaces
across all five boroughs.

ECG Community Game Night brought together nearly 70 residents for an evening of fun, connection, and community at Eastchester Community Gardens.

Guests of all ages enjoyed board games, card games, arcade games, snacks, and conversation in a welcoming environment designed to bring neighbors together. One of the most meaningful parts of the evening was seeing residents connect with people in their community for the very first time.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the night so special.

Voting for is open — now it’s time to decide which projects get funded! 🗳️

Thousands of New Yorkers submitted ideas for community projects this fall, and randomly selected residents from each borough reviewed, refined, and ultimately chose which proposals would advance to the citywide vote this spring.

Now, these projects are one step closer to becoming reality — the winning ideas will be funded through the New York City budget and implemented by community-based organizations across the city.
