🚨 So… what the heck is going on with the housing market right now?
If you’ve been watching the headlines lately, you might be a little confused. 😂
One headline says rates are going up.
Another says the economy is slowing.
Sellers are cutting prices.
Buyers have more homes to choose from.
Oil prices are moving.
And now we’ve got CPI, PPI, Treasury auctions and the bond market all potentially affecting where mortgage rates go next. 🤯
Here’s the thing…
I don’t think this is a “good” market or a “bad” market.
It’s a market where you have to pay attention to the details.
🏠 Thinking about buying?
More choices can mean more negotiating power. You may not have to jump on the first house you see, and there could be opportunities to negotiate price, repairs, or closing costs.
🏡 Thinking about selling?
There are still plenty of buyers—but when buyers have more choices, pricing your home correctly and making it stand out becomes even more important.
💰 And mortgage rates?
Yes, they matter.
But they aren’t the entire deal.
The purchase price, seller concessions, taxes, insurance, loan program, monthly payment and your long-term plans all matter too.
Sometimes the question isn’t “Is now the perfect time to buy?”
The better question is:
👉 “Does buying make sense for ME right now?”
That’s a very different question.
The market is moving. Things are changing. And there are opportunities—but you have to know where to look. 👀
If you’re thinking about making a move in the St. Charles/St. Louis area, I’m happy to help you look at the numbers without the sales pitch.
