WWI Attends WineAmerica Annual D.C. Fly In and Lobby Conference

From May 4th-7th Washington Wine Institute's Executive Director Josh McDonald, Past WWI Board President and co-owner of L'Ecole No 41 Marty Clubb, and Sara Higgins Executive Director of the Washington Winegrowers Association joined WineAmerica and over 30 other wine-producing states for our annual D.C. trip to meet with our WA Congressional delegation, House and Senate committees' staff and leadership, and federal agencies such as the Alcohol and To***co Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB) that make decisions and have regulatory authority over the wine industry.

We are hopeful our advocacy efforts made a meaningful difference in getting positive outcomes on all these critical issues for the WA wine industry!

The inaugural DTC Wine Symposium in the Pacific Northwest is in the books! The Washington Wine Institute was honored to kick off event sessions alongside the Oregon Winegrowers Association and the Idaho Wine Commission with an update on wine direct-to-consumer advocacy, tasting room policy, and the regulatory need-to-knows (and challenges) of each state. We hope attendees walked away feeling equipped to support your wine association's efforts. We encourage those who want to get involved to join your association, donate to your state's wine PAC, and attend campaign events, just to name a few ideas. Advocacy is done collectively!

It was great to see so many familiar faces and meet new people working hard to create PNW wine and get it to the consumer. We feel so fortunate to be part of such a supportive community. 🥂

Proceeds from the are going to Free the Grapes!
