7 AM What’s traffic like?
3 PM School is let out, people start returning home. You will get a sense of how busy the neighborhood gets.
9 PM Is it well lit? Is it quiet? Would you feel safe coming home? Is there parking?

Your complete guide to Lamorinda’s 4th of July 🎉🇺🇸

Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of it.

🏃 8:00 AM — Run for a Reason kicks off at the Orinda Community Center. Choose a 5-mile run or 2-mile walk, all benefiting the SUDC Foundation.

🎺 10:00 AM — Orinda’s hometown parade is the best hometown parade. Park at BART, or any open parking lots Orinda PD does not give tickets on the 4th of July. The route runs from the Theatre District through Crossroads to the Village District, ending at the Community Center.

🎪 11:30 AM — The celebration continues at Orinda Community Center Park with live music, food trucks, and a community carnival.

🐾 11:00 AM — Over in Moraga, the party moves to Moraga Commons. Catch the Dog Parade (register at moragarec.com), then settle in for an afternoon of live music starting at 12:30 PM, with headliner Neon Velvet taking the stage at 7:30 PM.

🎆 9:30 PM — Fireworks light up the sky over Moraga Country Club to close out the night.

No membership, no fee, just a gorgeous walk through the hills. 7 AM until sunset. Great for all ages and leashed dogs. Stay on the paths, leave no trace, and check posted signage for the current pet policy. Save this post so you remember next Monday morning.
