Q: What project are you most proud of and why?
A: This is a hard question. I am proud of all the projects I choose to work on. That’s what drives my decisions from the get-go. If I had to choose one, I would say Fashion Square Mall. We saw a "need" and an opportunity when there was not one available. We did a ton of research on what a Fashion Square Mall redevelopment could be, and then I sat on the floor and literally cut and pasted a site plan together. We took that info, created a marketing piece, and sent it to the one potential buyer we knew would and should execute the vision. The site was not for sale. We created that sale. That makes me proud.
Q: How long have you been with BBD?
A: I've been with BBDRE for over eight years, but I've known and worked with Mike and Billy for even longer. Most days, I cannot believe how long it has been. On other days, it feels much longer. 😊 There is a long history between all of us. We truly are family.
Q: How have you achieved success in your role?
A: I think "success" is a relative term. When I first started in commercial real estate, I was given a "personality test" to see if I would be good at sales. At the end of the test, my Vice President said, "We have good news and bad news." So I was like, "Ok, what’s the good news?" He told me the test indicated that I would be a good salesperson. At that point, how could there be any bad news? I proceeded to ask, "Well then, what’s the bad news?" He stated the test showed I cared more about being the best rather than making the most money, to which I immediately responded, "Well, if I’m the best... doesn’t that mean I would be making the most money?" I truly approach my career in that way every day. I want to be the best in my craft. I want to do the best I can for my team and my clients. I don’t know if I have found success or not, but what I do know is a love for who I am and a love for what I get to do for the rest of my career.
Q: Tell us a fun fact about yourself.
A: Music drives me. You will often catch me blaring music in the office, in my car, at my house, on the boat. I bought a huge megawatt sound system for my office laptop. It is a motivator and a creativity-sparker. I listen to everything from classical to rap. Doesn’t matter...
