📢 Florida HOA Board Members – New Education Requirements (HB 1203)
Starting in 2024, Florida law now requires mandatory training for all HOA board directors under Florida Statute 720.3033.
Here’s what you need to know:
✔️ New directors must complete an approved training course within 90 days of being elected or appointed
✔️ Certification is valid for 4 years
✔️ Training covers:
• Financial literacy & transparency
• Recordkeeping
• Fines & enforcement
• Meeting notices & requirements
📚 Ongoing education is required every year:
• 4 hours annually (associations under 2,500 parcels)
• 8 hours annually (2,500+ parcels)
⚠️ Important: Directors who don’t complete or submit their certification on time are automatically suspended until they comply.
