In Florida, the longest pier in the state, the Navarre Beach Pier, is also one of the most incredible places to overlook the Gulf Coast from above! Stretching 1,545 feet into the Gulf of Mexico and standing about 30 feet above the water, it offers wide views of Navarre Beach’s white sand and clear blue-green water. From the railings, visitors may spot dolphins, sea turtles, sharks, jellyfish, bait balls, pelicans, gulls, and herons, making the pier a great place for wildlife watching as well as fishing. Anglers can bring their own gear or rent a rod and buy bait at the pier store, while sightseers can simply walk out and enjoy the breeze and sunset. The current pier opened in 2010 after earlier hurricane damage, and more than 800 breakaway wood deck panels are designed to lift away during heavy waves to help protect the structure. Wooden stairs, an ADA ramp, accessible railing spots, and an outdoor restaurant nearby make it an easy stop for nearly anyone visiting the beach.
