Last year at Pride, I was out celebrating my best friend’s birthday when we got the call that the offer he and his boyfriend submitted had been accepted. To this day it remains one of my favorite real estate memories.

A year ago, I was hesitant to post this video because I worried it wasn’t “professional.” But the longer I’ve been in real estate, the more I’ve realized that helping people find their dream home means showing up authentically and serving people as they are.

I’ve worked with with families, first-time buyers, married couples, single women, LGBTQ+ clients, people celebrating major milestones, and people rebuilding after difficult seasons. Every story is different, but everyone deserves the same opportunity to pursue homeownership.

That’s why Fair Housing matters. In Pennsylvania and across the country, where you live should be determined by your goals, needs, and budget. Not by who you love, how you identify, or who you are.

This Pride Month, I’m celebrating my friends, my clients, and the idea that everyone deserves a place to call home.

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to read to over 40 kindergarten students and speak to one of the classes at Emily Brittain Elementary about my career in real estate. I was pretty nervous because I always thought career days were more for cops and firefighters, but the kids were so attentive and asked some really great questions about being a Realtor.

Afterwards, the kids got to decorate their own houses and share what they’d include in their dream homes. From art rooms to waterbeds, their imaginations were incredible. A few of them even said real estate is something they might want to do one day!

It was such a fun experience and definitely one I’ll remember. It also helped that the kids didn’t roast me TOO hard while guessing my age! Thank you Mr. Bandura for inviting me into your class.
