What an incredible few days in Hood River! 🌲🚣

Last week, our Maintenance Supervisors came together for a retreat filled with rafting, great food, firepits, plenty of laughs, and most importantly, time to connect and enjoy being together.

Our maintenance teams give so much to our communities every day — tackling work orders, turns, emergencies, and everything unexpected in between. These few days were about giving some of that energy back to them with an opportunity to recharge, have fun, and strengthen the relationships that make our teams so special.

We’re incredibly grateful for this group and everything they do for our residents and communities.

Closing out summer the best way we know how — together.

A couple of weeks ago, our team spent the day at Tahoe Treetop climbing, laughing, encouraging one another, and making memories together outside of the usual day-to-day.

What made the day special wasn’t just the adventure — it was seeing everyone show up for each other, cheer one another on, laugh through the nerves, and make sure no one felt like they were taking on the challenge alone.

We care a lot about creating space for our teams to connect, feel supported, and genuinely enjoy the people they work alongside. Days like this are a small reflection of that — and a reminder that the strongest teams are built through trust, encouragement, and time spent together.

We ended the day with lunch, full hearts, and plenty of good stories to bring back with us. đź’š

From backpacks and notebooks to other classroom essentials, each donation is a small gesture that can make a meaningful difference for a student and their family.

Last week, our Seattle team stepped into the Game Show Battle Rooms and put their teamwork to the test through three fast-paced, game show-style challenges.

It took quick thinking, strategy, communication, and just the right amount of friendly competition — and the GLP ALL STARS came out on top with a 13–12 victory!

But the best part wasn’t the score. It was watching everyone encourage each other, laugh together, and continue building stronger relationships outside of the office.

Moments like these remind us that great teams aren’t built only through work. They’re built through shared experiences, connection, and a whole lot of team spirit.

Please join us in congratulating Mitchell Parker on his new role as Asset Management Associate!

Mitchell’s path with GL is a true full-circle moment. After building a strong foundation with our team in property management, Mitchell stepped away following the sale of River Edge — a property he helped carry through a successful transition that closed at 99.68% occupancy. A few months later, when the right opportunity opened on the asset management team, the fit was clear.

In this role, Mitchell supports the development and ex*****on of asset-specific business plans across GL's 20+ property multifamily portfolio, with direct involvement in financial analysis, capital planning, and monitoring of operational performance. He brings with him five years of hands-on property management experience, primarily in student housing, where he worked through several site-level roles before becoming Property Manager and helping drive leasing performance by more than 15% year-over-year.

Mitchell holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Boise State University, where he is also completing his MBA — a background that pairs naturally with the thoughtful, analytical approach he brings to asset management.

Outside of work, Mitchell has a natural curiosity for how things work — whether he’s on the golf course, in an Excel spreadsheet, or under the hood of a car. And when he’s not deep in the details, he’s likely being kept on schedule by his dog, Sadie.

We’re excited to welcome Mitchell back in this new capacity and look forward to the impact he’ll continue to make across the portfolio. Congratulations, Mitchell!

From immersive art to the yellow brick road, last week’s team events were anything but ordinary.

In Colorado, our team spent the day wandering through the weird, wonderful, colorful world of Meow Wolf Denver, then kept the day going over lunch at Domo Japanese Restaurant.

In Las Vegas, our team followed the yellow brick road to Sphere for The Wizard of Oz, then wrapped things up the only appropriate way — with tacos and time together at Tacos & Beer Las Vegas.

Two cities, two completely different outings, and exactly the kind of reset that busy teams deserve.

We love seeing our teams get the chance to step out of the daily rhythm, try something new, and enjoy each other outside of emails, tours, turns, work orders, and all the moving pieces that come with community life.

A little art, a little Oz, a lot of good food, and even better company.

Last week, our Oregon and Vancouver teams took team building to new heights — literally.

We stepped away from our busy communities, daily checklists, inboxes, and endless to-dos for a zip lining adventure at Pumpkin Ridge, and it turned into one of those days we’ll be talking about for a while.

There were laughs, nerves, encouragement from platform to platform, and more than a few moments of “I can’t believe I just did that.” But the best part? Everyone showed up for the experience and for each other.

Whether someone was ready to fly from the start or needed a little pep talk before taking the next leap, the team cheered each other on the whole way. It was such a fun reminder that great teams aren’t just built in meetings or on busy leasing days — they’re built in the moments where we try something new, support one another, and make memories together.

So proud of our Oregon and Vancouver teams for bringing the courage, the laughter, and the best energy.

Here’s to strong teams, brave moments, and keeping both feet off the ground every once in a while.

As part of a friendly competition among a select group of communities utilizing Realync, teams were challenged to create engaging apartment videos that highlight what makes their community special. Uptown delivered a standout submission that captured the home in a creative and compelling way.
