It's our 3rd summer in the house and the landscaping is finally done. My friend, Joyce, is way better with plants than I am so I gave her a list of flowers I like and she told me where to put them. I got a bunch of plants from my friends, Dawn, which helped cut down on some of the cost. Good plants are expensive! My son-in-law and crew from his company Glory Concrete shoveled all the rock in for me. They even planted all the plants on the big slope. I just placed them where I wanted them.

This was a group effort, but I'm really happy with how it turned out. There is w**d barrier down so it takes me less than 30 minutes a week to pull w**ds. I will probably still put a tree at the corner, but I haven't fully decided on that yet.

I met for coffee and shop talk this morning. I highly recommend the Apple Caramel Chai bucket. Soooo good. I sent the donut home with Gretchen. It's included with the bucket.

I love old houses. I love the charm, the character, the features you don't see in modern builds, and thinking of the families who have lived in these homes. Last week I got to show a home in Sheboygan that is a landmark. The features were amazing!

The added detail in the ceiling. The leaded glass in the french doors. The random marble sink in a bedroom. The real wood floors, not LVP. The two sided fireplace. One side with an intricate wood surround. The inlay into the tile floor. And lastly the sweet little boy's outfit we saw hanging in the basement. I wish an average person could afford to put details like this into a new home, but it's just cost prohibitive.

I was doing some research on the house and this may be the same WIlliam Jung who started the Jung Brewery in Random Lake but I can't confirm it.

What a week it's been. There were several glitches in the wedding, but we pulled it off. Who knew the week after would be so stressful? Who knew a video from the wedding would go viral? We want to thank several vendors for all their help.
