4th Annual Historic Home Tour to Showcase Pocatello’s Rich Heritage

Step back in time and explore our community’s rich heritage! The 4th Annual Pocatello Historic Home Tour is set for September 13, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is facilitated by NeighborWorks Pocatello’s six targeted neighborhood associations – all located in the heart of Pocatello. Tickets are $20 each. Proceeds will support future neighborhood association projects and activities for the coming year.

It promises to be an unforgettable event filled with history, fellowship, and learning. The purchase of a ticket will grant tourgoers access to eight historic homes. Tour stops this year are clustered within the Neighborhoods of Historic Downtown.

Tourgoers can choose their adventure by boarding the free trolley from the parking lot in front of Pocatello High School (located at North Arthur & Fremont) or driving or walking to each location on their own. The flexibility will allow participants to explore at their own pace and see everything that interests them. An informative brochure will be provided, which will include a map and a brief historical description of each site.

Not only will participants get to tour several historic homes and landmarks in Pocatello, but they will also be contributing to impactful neighborhood projects. Last year’s event raised $10,000. The hope for 2025 is to exceed last year’s amount. This is more than just a tour; it’s an investment in the community’s future.

One of the new additions to the tour this year should appeal to those who appreciate older-era automobile collections. Phil Meador has graciously agreed to display automobiles from his vintage automobile collection at the front of each tour stop. This is an exciting new addition that should allow the event to appeal to a broader audience.

Another exciting addition to this year’s event is a stop at the Whitman Hotel to take part in several history-related talks, led by local experts. These informative and educational presentations will be held on a rotating basis inside the lobby of the Whitman Hotel located at 122 S. Main Street. Featured speakers and associated topics are as follows.

Ellen Ryan, Head of Special Collections & University Archives at ISU: “Researching Your Home’s History”
Latecia Herzog, Myers-Anderson Architects: “Legacy of Early Pocatello Architect, Frank Paradice”
Jennifer Atterbury, Professor Emerita, ISU Department of English & Philosophy: “Shady and Walkable: West Side Pocatello’s Historic Streetscapes”

Tickets for the Historic Home Tour can be purchased in advance at the NeighborWorks Pocatello offices located at 206 N. Arthur during any weekday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. before September 13, or online at https://nwpocatello.org/historic-home-tour. For those wishing to purchase tickets the day of the event, they will be available at the parking lot in front of Pocatello High School.
