People always ask me: “What’s the best part about being a developer, and what’s your favorite type of project?”

Without a doubt, cottage clusters have my heart and also landscape hotels!

What I love most about development is the creativity of it all. From scouting the perfect lot to designing the layout and hand-picking the finishes, there is nothing like watching my own vision come together.

For me, it’s all about creating intentional, beautiful spaces filled with personality. The world has enough gray and white boxes! I’m not adding to it. 🚫

I love to live in color, and you will always know an Amika Development home by our vibrant choice of tile and textures.

The second best part? The time freedom. I can work from anywhere and on a beautiful, sunny day like today, my “office” is always outdoors. ☀️💻

Thanks for coming, everyone! 🥺 This was a first event and I hope it turns into an annual event. There aren’t many developers who look like me/us, and although I’m still in the early years of my development career, I’m happy to share my knowledge and inspire the next generation of developers.

If it felt like a lot to take in, I hope you remember one thing: you CAN become a real estate developer or investor. You don’t need to be a Realtor. You just need to take action and you absolutely need a mentor to teach and guide you on your first deal. Amika Development offers this service for serious and committed people only.

Demo and appraisal day! 🔨

The appraiser caught me off guard today when he said, “I have a daughter, and it’s nice to see more women developers.” 🥹
There are definitely days where being a woman in this field brings unique challenges, but I truly love being a woman of color developer. Being able to represent what’s possible for the next generation of girls makes every hurdle worth it!
