Are you a homeowner in Cumberland or York County in need of a new roof?
Fortify Maine Homes is a $15M grant program approved by the Maine House & Senate in April 2025 to help Maine Residents make their homes more resilient to severe weather events and lower insurance costs. This year it will launch a grant program to help eligible homeowners replace their roofs — up to $10,000 per home (up to $15,000 for SNAP/MaineCare enrollees). The pilot phase launches late spring/early summer 2026 in York and Cumberland counties, with statewide expansion to follow. Homes must be owner-occupied primary residences. Applications are not yet open — a link will be posted to the state website when ready. Maine is the first state in the northeast to offer these grants to homeowners, but other New England states are on their way to replicating the Maine program. A great opportunity for homeowners in Cumberland and York counties! learn more at https://www.maine.gov/pfr/insurance/fortify-maine
