I think we're leaving the era of Florida and Texas being the default move.
For years, the answer was one of two places. Sunny. No income tax. Everyone's doing it.
New Census data says something different. North Carolina had more people move in from other states last year than any other state. More than Texas. More than Florida.
It's not just people leaving high cost states. Companies are relocating their headquarters here too.
Energizer is moving 75 executives here from St. Louis. Apple committed a billion dollar campus. The jobs are showing up before the people do.
If Florida or Texas is the only place on your list, I think you're missing the market that's winning.
