I was born in Great Falls, Montana and moved back to NC a few days later when my father was discharged from the Air Force. I have lived all over the state but primarily Eastern NC until my move to the Triangle. My hometown in Greenville, NC and I am proud to be a Pirate! Go ECU! I spent the first few years after college teaching elementary school and education for children is a passion of mine. I have 3 school age children of my own so I try and stay very abreast of things with Wake County Schools and preschool programs in the area. I spent 13 years in medical sales and am very well versed in the medical community in the Triangle Area for many areas of medicine. I am extremely involved in various community organizations and activities and pride myself on having a pulse on the Triangle.

South Carolina at number one is not the surprise — it has held the top spot six years running. The surprise is the northern half of that list. Cold states, small states, and three of them in the top ten.

Florida is the other story. Its ratio jumped 35 points since last year, which puts it back near the top after a quiet stretch.

One caveat worth saying out loud: this measures where people are searching to move, not completed moves, and it ranks by ratio rather than raw numbers. Texas takes more actual movers than most of this list — it just isn’t growing as fast relative to its size.

The bigger point: national numbers almost never describe your street. What is happening in Raleigh is its own thing entirely, and it is usually more interesting than the map.

If dogs were Realtors, here’s the advice they’d give. 🐾 Swipe through — honestly, they might be onto something.

① Protect your pack — buy the home that fits your family’s future, not just today.
② Trust your instincts — if a house doesn’t feel like home, keep looking.
③ Some days you lead, some days you wait — the right house (and buyer) are worth waiting for.
④ Don’t fetch what wasn’t thrown — don’t fall in love with homes outside your budget.
⑤ Don’t chase your tail — trying to time the market usually leaves you spinning.
⑥ Do your homework — research the neighborhood as much as the house.
⑦ Follow your nose — notice the little details during a showing.
⑧ Don’t judge by the front yard — sometimes the best surprises are inside.
