Licensed as a salesman in 1971 while working his way through the University of Richmond; Jim became a full time Realtor in 1974 working for the firm of Rennie and Wallace. He became a Licensed Broker in 1975 and later started his own firm with a fraternity brother from college. Jim specialized in land and premium properties in Richmond and surrounding areas, often selling
commercial properties to or for his clientele. His first major commercial sale was of the Franklin Towers Apartments in 1978. He has handled almost every manner of real property including land cattle farms, historic estates, office buildings, urban mansions and duck marshes. Jim grew up in Richmond enjoying the outdoors including Scouting, hiking, camping, hunting and fishing. Professionally, he has served on the Grievance Committee and the Professional Standards Panel of the Richmond Association of REALTORS for the last 35 years. Philanthropically, he has been a member of Rotary International for over 33 years both in the West Richmond Club and the Western Henrico Rotary Club. He operates his business on the principals of the Rotarian Four Way Test: Is it the Truth, Is it Fair to all concerned, Will it bring Good Will and Better Friendships and Will it be beneficial to all concerned? Jim and Fran have been a team in real estate since 2006, with Fran receiving her license in 2007. Fran became a Broker in 2011 and is currently the Principal Broker for both rentinirchmond.com and Town & Country Sales and Management. Prior to real estate, Fran previously was a teacher for 28 years in Virginia, Maryland and Delaware with a Masters in Education specializing in Special Education and Curriculum development. Fran and Jim have been continually recognized as Distinguished Achievers by the Richmond Association of Realtors for the past 10 years.
