Is it better to rent or buy? It depends — but let's examine what you might be missing by renting: 🤔

💸 When you rent, your monthly payment builds your landlord's equity — not yours.
🏠 When you own, every mortgage payment is an investment in your future.
📈 Historically, home values have appreciated over time.
🧾 Homeowners may qualify for mortgage interest deductions.
🔧 You have the freedom to update, renovate, and personalize your space.

Of course, buying isn't suitable for every situation — timing, finances, and goals all play a role. But if you've been contemplating, it's worth having a candid conversation about what's possible for you. 💬 Let's calculate the numbers together. Contact us today to see what you might qualify for! 👐

The spring housing market is finally showing real signs of life, but the recovery isn’t happening everywhere at the same pace.

New data from Realtor.com shows that 2026 is bringing a clearer balance between new listings and buyer activity, with contract signings and inventory both trending higher than last year.

And once again, the Midwest is leading the way thanks to a mix of affordability, improving supply, and buyers who are re-engaging after a slow few years.

If you’re thinking about making a move this spring, understanding your local market is everything right now and we can help!

Memorial Day weekend means cookouts, lake days, and the unofficial start of summer 🇺🇸☀️

But behind the long weekend are stories many people have never heard from the origins of the red poppy to the surprising history of “Taps,” and even why flags only fly at half-staff until noon on Memorial Day.

This holiday carries more history, symbolism, and tradition than most of us realize.

Spring is Michigan's wettest stretch of the year and your basement is the first place to feel it. Here are some tips to make sure your sump pump is working properly and your basement stays dry.

- Test your sump pump now by pouring a bucket of water into the pit to confirm it activates.
- A battery backup is worth having. If heavy rain knocks out power, your primary pump goes with it.
- Standard homeowners insurance typically does not cover sump pump failure or groundwater flooding.

A water backup and sump overflow endorsement is needed - and it is usually one of the least expensive add-ons available. Contact our family insurance company; Insurance One today and make sure you have it before you need it.
