Folks we aren’t closing! We are retiring.
After nearly 40 years, it is time for us to say goodbye.
There really aren't enough words to express what Freeport-and all of you-have meant to us. This bakery became such a big part of our lives. That only happened because of the incredible people who walked through our doors and the amazing people who came to work with us.
To our customers: thank you. Thank you for choosing us for your birthdays, weddings, holidays, celebrations, and those days when a coffee and a shortbread cookie seemed like just what you needed. Thank you for your loyalty, your kind words, and for allowing us to be part of so many of your memories. We loved being part of our community. You made Freeport Bakery what it became.
To our staff, past and present: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You gave this bakery your time, your talent, your energy, and so much of yourselves. We could never have done this without you. We really mean that. Our staff, both past and present, has been so loyal and so dedicated. We are in awe of you and incredibly proud of what we built together. We will always be grateful for the people who shared this journey with us.
The long days, holidays, and challenging days have all been part of building Freeport.
We have almost 40 years of wonderful memories that we will carry with us forever. As Freeport Bakery starts its next chapter, we hope you will welcome and support the new owner, Lisa. We know we are leaving the bakery in the best possible hands with her. She has no plans to change Freeport. All of our staff has been hired and they are ready to continue what we have built.
Leaving something that has been such a huge part of our lives is incredibly bittersweet. But mostly, we feel grateful.
