Property tax exemptions made a major impact for Glynn County residents in 2025, saving local taxpayers millions of dollars.

✔️ The Scarlett-Williams Value Freeze (L5) helped taxpayers save $5,422,179.09.
✔️ The Chapman-Lane School Tax Exemption (L6) saved eligible seniors $8,812,668.35 on their property tax bills.

📅 Important Reminder:
The deadline to apply for the 2026 Homestead Exemption is April 1.

The City of Brunswick will be accepting applications for the voter approved Home Ownership Municipal Exemption (H.O.M.E.) Act (HB 793) beginning Thursday, January 1, 2026 – Wednesday, April 1, 2026

The Home Ownership Municipal Exemption (H.O.M.E.) Act offers a graduated property value exemption for city taxes. The exemption is a tiered system for homeowner-occupied residents - (5% for 5 years or less, up to 50% for 30+ years), effective 2026. Primary residency is required.

Residents are to apply in person at City of Brunswick Tax Department, 601 Gloucester Street, Brunswick, GA for the 2026 tax year.
