It’s the little things that pull a space together. Here’s how we refresh bottles for every stage 🍷 ✨

Designing an 18-room short-term rental requires a lot of organization (and pillows!)

Our main goal is setting our stagers and logistics team up for success to make sure the day of staging goes smoothly and there is less to worry about.

When we’re sourcing for staging, here’s what we look for:

🌿 Color variation: Real plants aren’t one flat green. Look for depth, fading, and slight imperfections
🌸 Matte, natural texture: Skip anything shiny or plastic-looking
🌿 Quality stems: Thicker + bendable = you can shape it to look more organic
🌸 Movement: Always fluff, bend, and separate. Never leave it straight out of the box
🌿 Scale matters: If it feels too small, it probably is
🌸 Upgrade the base: Ditch the plastic pot and use a better planter or add moss/soil on top
🌿 Resist the urge to add multiple types of stem - keep things uniform for a more cohesive look

The goal is to create a space that feels lived-in, layered, and intentional.

Save this for your next HomeGoods run 🤍

From nurse to Certified Staging Design Professional 👏

Rose came to Staging Studio with a heart for people and a passion for creating spaces that feel calm, intentional, and inviting. During maternity leave, she chose to invest in a new path and turned that passion into a business.

Today, she’s the owner of and is bringing thoughtful, client-focused staging to East Sussex in the UK.

This is what happens when you pair real-life experience with the right training:
✨ Confidence to start
✨ Skills to execute
✨ A business built with purpose

We’re so proud to be part of your journey, Rose 🤍

Thinking about starting your own staging business? This is your sign!

Accidents happen in staging. A chair leg scratches a floor. A lamp breaks during install. A mover bumps a wall. It’s part of the job.

What matters is how you handle it as a business owner 👇

📝 Document it: Write down what happened, when it happened, and who was involved. In some states, documentation matters if repeated issues become a performance concern, so keeping records protects you and your business.

🤝 If a client’s property is damaged, address it immediately: Let them know right away and do what it takes to make it right. If they discover the damage before you tell them, the situation almost never goes as smoothly.

📦 Treat it as a cost of doing business: We’re constantly moving furniture through tight spaces, stairs, and unfamiliar homes. Small damages will happen. Plan for it.

🛡️ Have the right insurance: Proper coverage protects your company, your team, and your clients when accidents happen.

🚫 Don’t make the employee pay for it: You don’t want to create a culture of fear. If people think they’ll be financially punished, they’re far more likely to hide mistakes instead of reporting them.

That’s how professional staging companies operate.

The biggest thing that’s changed since 2016?
We (and the students we teach!) stage a lot more luxury homes now.

When we first started, we staged anything that came our way. These days, we still work with homes at all price points—but let’s be honest…
Luxury homes are just plain fun.
And the photos? Chef’s kiss. 🤌✨

We’re proud to teach stagers how to step into the luxury market right away—with the confidence, process, and portfolio to match. ✨

📸 Take photos after every stage. Yes, every one.

One of the biggest habits of successful stagers?
They document their work as they go, not just the final reveal.

Taking photos after each stage helps you:
✔️ Track your design decisions
✔️ Catch mistakes before moving on
✔️ Build before-and-after content
✔️ Create marketing + portfolio gold
✔️ Have enough photos for possible award submissions

You don’t need fancy equipment, just your phone with intention.
Your future self (and your business) will thank you.
