I’ve always believed that filling a lease—especially for a homeowner—is a form of matchmaking.

After showing my neighbor’s sweet guesthouse to many interested renters and receiving several strong applications, serendipity stepped in. A former tenant from the early 2000s, displaced by the Palisades fires and now needing to be in Santa Monica, happened upon the listing while scrolling apartment ads.

When they arrived at the showing, it was love at first—well, second—sight.

It feels especially meaningful that the owner once again has this wonderful tenant with excellent credit and demonstrated reliability, sharing her property, and that the tenant has a familiar space in a great neighborhood to make their new home.

With many offers, this beautiful 1931 iconic, Westwood, California Spanish house, has been sold, but truly, it was a “match” for its buyers.
I’m very happy for the sellers - who cherished their home and sold it for above the listed price. I’m excited for them as they settle into their next chapter.
It’s an equally happy story for the buyers, who also love the house and will enjoy its character, architecture and its amazing location close to their work at UCLA Medical Center.

At the Open House, I had the thrill and pleasure to meet two individuals who (separately) had spent time inside this house during the time of its first owners. One was the “little girl” who had grown up across the street, who shared fond memories of her neighbors, the woman having been her 4th grade Math teacher at St. Paul’s. The other was a childhood friend of the boys who grew up in the house - he shared memories of the fun and pranks they’d played together in and outside of the house, including climbing out the window onto the roof.

All these memories exhibit the love and warmth that, in my humble opinion, exudes from the walls and adds to the intrinsic (spiritual if you believe) value of this space.

It was very touching for me to be involved and learn a bit about the spirit of this beautiful and historic house.
