What actually makes a vacation rental perform well?
Spoiler: it’s not just about being close to the beach.
The rentals that consistently stand out usually have a few things in common:
~ A layout that works well for groups and families
~Strong outdoor spaces (pool, porch, firepit, views… people book experiences)
~Walkability to restaurants, beach access, and local spots
~Plenty of parking! Underrated, but important
~A design that feels memorable and photographs beautifully online
~Bonus features people search for: bunk rooms, golf carts, game rooms, rooftop decks, boat docks, etc.
And honestly? The homes that perform best usually make people say, “I could actually see myself staying there.” That feeling matters more than square footage sometimes.
A successful vacation rental is part investment, part lifestyle, and part knowing what today’s travelers are actually looking for.
