Kirkland local test. 15 confessions, no tourist stuff.

The list is in the carousel. Nothing on it is a landmark or a bucket list item. It's Youth Traffic Court, the Cow and Coyote costume schedule, tartar sauce at Spud's, and whether you still say Parkplace.

A few that are real and checkable:

- Finn Hill, North Juanita and Kingsgate joined Kirkland on June 1, 2011, on a 59.94% yes vote. About 2,700 of those households had Bothell addresses.
- The Seahawks trained at Northwest College in Houghton from 1986 to 1996 and slept in the dorms.
- Kirkland Signature is named after the old Costco headquarters here. It left for Issaquah.
- Houghton is Hoh-Tun.

Scoring is simple. 12 or more and you're a local. Under 5 and you moved here for the commute.

Redmond used to be called Salmonberg. Then Melrose. Then a new postmaster renamed it, and one family refused to accept it for years.

This is Redmond history you won't find on the usual fun-facts lists:

- The town incorporated in 1912 because of one newborn baby
- A saloon license in 1913 cost $1,000
- Stone tools made 10,000+ years ago were buried near Redmond Town Center
- Henry Ford wanted milk from the cows at what's now Marymoor Park
- The name "Redmond" came out of a family feud

Bellevue things that don't mix.

Leaving Bellevue Square at 6pm and actually finding your car. A "quick errand" on 405 anytime between 3 and 7pm. A sunny Saturday and not ending up at Downtown Park.
