As a Realtor, I help people buy and sell homes every day. But this one hits differently.
My grandparents built this home in the late '80s, and for me, it was so much more than a house. It was summers with my Nanny, weekends with family, holiday gatherings, laughter in the kitchen, and a place where everyone always felt welcome.
When the time came to sell, my dad and I agreed that because I'm one of the grandchildren, it would be a conflict of interest for me to handle the sale. Professionally, it was the right decision. Personally, it was a hard one.
This morning, as I looked at the listing, I found myself emotional. Like many families, I attached so much of my childhood to those walls. Then my cousin reminded me of something important: it was never really about the house. It was about the people, the love, and the memories made there.
Moments like this remind me why real estate is so much more than contracts, square footage, and closing dates. Every home has a story. Every sale represents a chapter ending and another beginning.
I hope the next family who calls this place home fills it with as much love, laughter, and life as my grandparents did.
Forever Nan and Pops. ❤️
