We are incredibly honored to share that the DeSoto County Dream Center has been selected to receive a Neighborhood Grant from The Starbucks Foundation!

This grant is especially meaningful because it was made possible through the nomination of local Starbucks partners (employees) who believe in the work happening right here in DeSoto County. We see this generosity in action every week at our Emergency Needs Closet. Through fresh food donations from Starbucks, we’re able to share meals with our neighbors and help meet a practical need in their lives.

The 2026 Neighborhood Grants program received more than 43,000 nominations, with more than 2,700 organizations selected across the U.S. and Canada. We are incredibly grateful to be among them!

And to The Starbucks Foundation, thank you for investing in local organizations and the people working every day to make our communities stronger.
We are so grateful for partners who believe that when a community comes together, dreams become possible.

Join us for the Music Around the Square Ribbon Cutting as we officially kick off another great season of music, community, and fun in Downtown Hernando! 🎸✨

We have partnered with the City of Hernando, MS to install speakers on select light poles around the square. Wisdom Integrators handled the installation, ensuring a constant stream of rhythmic tunes for shoppers and diners to enjoy downtown.

These projects are made possible by the ARPA funds provided by the MS Main Street Association through the MS legislature.

Rates are up and affordability is tighter than buyers would like. That part isn't up for debate.

What often gets missed is the seasonal pattern working in the opposite direction. Nationally, Realtor.com's research points to the week of September 27 through October 3 as this year's best window to buy, driven by more inventory, less competition, and prices that have already come down from their peak.
